Act IV
(after being gone for two days Nora makes her way back to Torvalds home)
Nora: I shouldn't have come back, its just going to give Torvald another reason to look down on me but I have no where else to go.
(She paces on the front steps deciding weather she should ring the door bell. Meanwhile Heller sits on the couch with his arm around the nurse while the children play on the floor. Nora rings the door bell.)
Helmer: who is there?
Nora: Nora
Nurse: Torvald! Are you serious! You said she left!
Heller: Calm down you little squirrel we'll just ignore her and than she'll eventually go away
Nora: open up! Torvald, I realized I was wrong. You were right.
Helmer: (under his breathe) now she realizes
(Nora waits anxiously for someone to open door once she realizes she still has her key to the door. She scrambles through her purse to find the key and opens the door to the surprise of helmer and the nurse.
Nurse: Torvald!
Helmer: why are you here!
Nora: I was coming to apologize for my actions but I... I see you uh, moved on with....
Nurse: Nora its not what it looks like!
Heller: well actually it...
Children: Mom your back!
Nora: (realizing what is going on she says to Torvalds with tears in her eyes) I should of done it when I had the option, at least ill be there before Dr.Rank. (Nora leaves the key on the table and shuts the door before the kids can get to her)
Nurse: what does she mean?
Helmer: what have I done? ( he gets up and runs to the window to see Nora running off in the distance.)

Act II

Act II was full of excitement and parts of the story that left you on the edge of your seat wanting more. The second act started with a lot of drama when Dr. Rank comes to see Nora. Now at this point in the story we didn't expect that Nora and Rank were anything more than friends, but we soon learned other wise. Nora acted as if her and Helmer were not even married by showing Dr.Rank her outfit for the dance which left Dr. Rank wanting more. He jauntily said "what other pretty things do you have to show me?" (Ibsen pg 193) This and when Rank confessed his love for her eliminated all plans of Nora asking to borrow money from him.
With out Nora getting the money from Rank that ultimately lead to Krogstad sending Helmer the letter explaining everything. Nora's last option was to try and have Mrs. Linde convince Krogstad to ask for his letter back. At this point the out come of the story depend on what mrs. Linder says and does and both the reader and Nora know that. Earlier krogstad said to Nora "you forget that then your reputation would be in my hands" (Ibsen pg 200) we also soon learn that Nora is considering the intolerable act of committing suicide. At this point the story lays in Kristina hands.

So far a dolls house has been a very entertaining book to read. It has been full of suspense and some dramatic irony which always had you on the edge of your seat wondering what was going to happen next. Earlier on in the story we discovered how frivolous Nora could be. At first I felt like Torvald may be at the wrong by calling Nora names like Squirrel and skylark but soon the roles reversed. Once we heard lines like "but torvald, surely we can waste a little - just the trendiest bit?" it was soon obvious she was not afraid of squandering any of torvald's money.
Next, we soon found out how Nora could act in a childish manner for her advantage. For example when Nora said "ten-twenty-thirty-fourth! Oh thank you, Torvald, thank you." as she counted the money given to her by Torvald. We even saw this with Nora when she bragged about how she "earned" the money for the trip to Italy to Kristina. We soon discovered there would be no advancements in Nora's future as bad decisions from the past are catching up to her. Once krogstad brought up the topic about the debt we soon saw another display of childish actions. For example when she said "corrupt my little children - poison my home? That's not true! It could never, never be true." Nora said that as if she was some child after just finding out they were about to be caught for doing something wrong. It should be very interesting and revealing to see how the rest of the story plays out.

My name is Mark Rosetti. I lived in Bloomfield all my life and have three older brothers. As almost everyone in the school knows I want to become a firefighter once I grow up. I'm a big NASCAR fan and I also love hockey, my favorite team is the Devils. This year so far English class has been a lot of fun. I enjoy all the group work we do in class.

Henrik Ibsen was born in Skien Norway on March 20, 1828. He was the oldest of five children. Ibsen like his mother had early plans of becoming an artist. When he was 8 his fathers successful business failed forcing them to sell nearly everything and move to a rundown farm. In 1862 he left Norway and moved to Italy. He went on to write many books like 'Brand' and 'A Dolls House'. Sadly on
May 23, 1906 Ibsen died from a stroke.
